Rusty Blackbird

yesterday i got this most amazing shot of a rusty blackbird

Bank Swallow

i think this is  a bank swallow.

Tree Swallow

 a few weeks ago several swallows came to the yard, some tree swallows and at least 2 bank swallows.
On June 2nd the tree swallows checking out the nest boxes, and the bank swallows the eaves.

and June 7 a pair of tree swallows as left, one seen to collect nest material and bringing it to the nest box.

This morning June 8 i saw them mating.

Red-winged blackbird

To me the most beautiful birdsong is that of the Red-winged Blackbird. Mind you i am not very good at identifying birds by there song.
But I love it when i walk into the marshes and here the clear song of this bird.
And i sat on a dry knoll in the swamp to wait for it to make an appearance, and it did. it failed to show it's red wingspot underneath the yellow one, but there is always a next time.
