Scaups

On July 21 2014
at Moose-skull Lake i saw 2 adult scaups  with 17 young ones and 3 adult common goldeneyes.
Today
 the group has grown, i count at least 27 birds.

And this today August 17 2014. On my photos i only seem to count 24 birds remaining at the lake.

Dusky Grouse

British Columbia.
Last week July 1st, at the Three Guard's Men ( Haines road) we heard a , what i now think was Blue Grouse hooting.
July 5 on Monarch mountain ( Atlin) we not only heard, but also saw a Blue Grouse in display.
I wonder why they are displaying this time of year, is that normal?

This was called a Blue Grouse, now there are  two species, this one the Dusky Grouse, the one with a yellow sack a Sooty Grouse
